Wilson journey gives Ford hope

Malcolm Wilson’s presence at today’s meeting of the FIA World Rally Championship Commission is being interpreted as a sign that Ford may stay in rallying in 2004.
Ford is entitled to a seat on the commission and as director of its rally team M-Sport, Wilson is the natural representative. But if Ford pulls out, the seat would go to Subaru. Wilson’s presence is therefore being interpreted as a sign that Ford is likely to continue.
Ford has yet to make a decision though. Another high-level meeting took place yesterday, attended by the company’s Chief Executive in Europe, Lewis Booth.
